Hi there, I'm Tim!

For the past thirteen years, I've been working with startups in the US and Europe, helping them bring their visions to life and build top-notch engineering teams that excell in 0-to-1 and growth environments. My core expertise lies in leading large-scale projects in distributed systems and native mobile development. Along the way, I've had the pleasure of mentoring founders and engineers, helping them grow and succeed in their careers.

I successfully started, grew, and sold Dubsmash with over 250M installs and 160M users.

What I do

Engineering Leadership

I help engineering teams prioritize, execute & add value at scale across the full lifecycle.

Sometimes you have to do the right thing, other times you have to do things right. I help teams figure out when.

Distributed Systems at scale

I build distributed systems at scale & have supported use-cases ranging from task systems processing terrabytes of data to real-time systems brokering thousands of requests per second.

I help make complex problems easy.

Mobile Application Development

I have hands-on experience building applications on all major platforms at scale and put an emphasis on tight iteration loops & great developer experience.

I built native mobile applications before it was cool.

Team Building

I build best-in-class engineering organizations by hiring high caliber talent, investing into their growth and creating an environment they can thrive in.

I believe in diverse teams & the importance of psychological safety to succeed.

Coaching & Mentorship

I invest in & grow the next generation of founders, engineers & leaders by actively coaching and mentoring them.

Growth comes from within, I foster a growth-mindset in individuals and shape environments that learn and grow intrinsically.

Product & Business Strategy

I help businesses unlock potential by extending my work past engineering, helping shape product strategy and advising on the technological aspects to bring dreams to reality.

Building great products takes a village and I am a cross-functional partner-in-crime.
